Non-Profit Event in Santa Barbara

At the end of 2025, I was asked to photograph the Glimmers Gala in Santa Barbara.

Photographing this event for this Santa Barbara non profit was such an honor. Their mission is to fundraise and raise awareness for childhood cancer. The foundation was started by Ava, who unfortunately lost her battle with cancer. Her parents have continued the foundation in her legacy, creating something meaningful to support other families and keep her light shining.

The event was beautifully put together, with every detail thoughtfully planned. The venue, 28 Vic SB, created an intimate and elegant setting for the evening. The floral centerpieces by The Blooming Bronco added so much beauty to the space, and so many local businesses and community members donated their time and services to make the event possible.

There was also an auction held during the gala to fundraise for the foundation. Guests generously bid on donated items and experiences, all contributing to supporting the foundation’s mission and the families they serve.

The most impactful part of the night was the speeches. Ava’s parents, along with other parents who have had to watch their children go through cancer, shared their personal experiences. Hearing their stories firsthand was incredibly emotional and powerful. Their honesty, strength, and vulnerability created a moment that brought the entire room together. It was a reminder of why this foundation exists and why these events matter so much. A doctor also spoke on how important research is to advance technology and knowledge for childhood cancer and treatments.

A Nonprofit Event to Remember

Photographing the Glimmers Gala was truly an honor and a reminder of how important it is to document meaningful events and the stories behind them.

I offer event photography throughout Santa Barbara County and San Luis Obispo County, including galas, fundraisers, corporate events, and private celebrations. My goal is to document your event in a natural and storytelling focused way so you can remember not only how it looked, but how it felt.
